WHO WE ARE
All God's Children Can Read is a literacy outreach program based on the educational philosophy and mastery teaching techniques of Maisha Rounds, a National Board Certified teacher, South Carolina Teacher of the Year Nominee, Massachusetts Elementary School Principal, military wife, and mother of four. An advocate for intensive, data-driven, results-oriented reading instruction, Mrs. Rounds created this program to support the literacy development of her own children and students. Mrs. Rounds rose to the challenge of engaging her most unmotivated learners through music and movement as a vehicle for instruction. The goal of this reading program is to turn kids on to reading and build proficiency of the English language while also encouraging physical fitness.
Mrs. Rounds holds 2 Masters degree in education from Winthrop University and Harvard Graduate School of Education, 20 years of PreK-12 education experience, and is pursuing her doctorate in education at Vanderbilt University. She has partnered with gifted learning coaches who are highly qualified teachers from public and private schools. Together, they engage students by transforming reading into a full contact sport, leaving kids shouting, "Reading rocks!"
